Our impact

Our ultimate goal is to empower women to respond to this disease with hope rather than fear, education rather than misinformation, and treatment rather than denial.

Funds we raise work to provide every woman in Ghana with access to breast cancer screening, awareness programs and treatment, backed by cutting edge research. Every day, BCI gets closer to achieving this goal, with outreach programs operating in eight of the country’s ten regions.

Here’s some of the progress we’ve made so far

Nurses/Professionals Trained***

*Nearly 35% of those screened (4922 women) have been referred for additional screening and treatment, dramatically increasing the number of women who are able to access life-saving medical treatment at an earlier stage

**Peace and Love Survivor’s Association (PALSA), our survivors support group, gives a voice to survivors. This group also provides an emotional support system through peer counseling to recently-diagnosed patients.

***We provide nurses from health institutions throughout Ghana with training to equip them with the knowledge and skills to help catch breast cancer in their communities early.
